Creole Cabbage - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium cabbage
    2 Tbsp. margarine
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 onion, thinly sliced
    1 bell pepper, thinly sliced
    1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    3/4 c. (3 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Cut cabbage into 6 wedges.
    Remove core.
    Cover and cook 10 minutes in small amount of lightly salted boiling water.
    Drain well and carefully place wedges in greased 2 quart shallow baking pan.
    Saute pepper and onion in butter until tender; add tomatoes, salt, pepper, and sugar to mixture.
    Simmer for 3 minutes.
    Pour over cabbage.
    Bake 20 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Sprinkle cheese on top and bake until cheese is bubbly.
