Doris' Real Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. yellow cornmeal
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. baking powder
    2/3 c. buttermilk (approximately)
    5 Tbsp. corn oil
    1/4 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1 egg
Preparation
    Use a 9-inch cast-iron skillet.
    Preheat oven to 475\u00b0.
    Mix dry ingredients.
    Add buttermilk and egg.
    Beat well.
    Add 3 tablespoons of the corn oil and mix.
    Heat the remaining oil, or a little bacon grease, in the skillet.
    Heat the skillet until quite hot.
    Pour mixture into hot skillet.
    Bake at 475\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
