Spicy Spareribs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. pork rib slab
    3/4 c. packed brown sugar
    1/4 c. white vinegar
    2 Tbsp. soy sauce
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. ground ginger
    1 (14 oz.) can crushed pineapple with juice
    1/4 c. shredded unsweetened coconut (optional)
    1/2 tsp. Tabasco sauce
Preparation
    Cut the slab into individual ribs, putting the pieces in a large pot.
    Cover the ribs with water; simmer for 20 minutes. Drain off water and put ribs in a baking pan.
    In a small saucepan, combine the brown sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, salt and ginger.
    Bring to a boil.
    Add the pineapple with juice and coconut, if desired.
    Reduce heat; simmer for 5 minutes.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in Tabasco sauce.
