Friendship Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. fruit juice
    1 tsp. dry yeast
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 (16 oz.) can sliced peaches with juice
    6 c. sugar
    1 (16 oz.) can chunk pineapple with juice
    2 small jars maraschino cherries (without juice)
    1 box yellow cake mix
    1 box vanilla instant pudding
    4 eggs
    2/3 c. oil
    1 c. nuts, raisins or coconut
Preparation
    To make starter:
    Warm 1 cup fruit juice.
    Add yeast and 1 tablespoon sugar; let sit for 3 days at room temperature.
    (Use starter within 3 days, or it will go flat, or keep adding 1 teaspoon of sugar daily to hold.)
