Italian Cream Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stick margarine
    1/2 c. vegetable shortening
    2 c. sugar
    5 egg yolks
    2 c. cake flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 small can coconut
    1 c. chopped pecans
    5 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Preparation
    Cream margarine and shortening.
    Add sugar; beat until mixture is smooth.
    Add egg yolks and beat well.
    Combine flour and soda; add to mixture alternating with buttermilk.
    Stir in vanilla. Add coconut and pecans.
    Fold in egg whites.
    Bake in greased and floured pans at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes. Do not overbake.
