Mexican Corn Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. cornmeal
    3/4 c. flour
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. sugar
    2/3 c. liquid oil
    3 eggs, beaten
    1 can cream-style corn
    1 c. sour cream (or 1 c. milk plus 1 Tbsp. vinegar)
    1 (4 oz.) can mild, chopped green chilies
    1 onion, chopped (optional)
    1 c. cheese, grated (I use Cheddar)
Preparation
    Mix cornmeal, flour, baking powder, salt and sugar together in a large bowl.
    Mix the remaining ingredients, except cheese, together and add to the dry ingredients.
    Pour half of the batter into a 13 x 9-inch pan.
    Sprinkle the grated cheese over the batter and cover with the remaining batter.
    Bake at 450\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Serves 10 to 12.
