Party Punch Base - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. water
    1/3 c. sugar
    12 inches stick cinnamon, broken
    1/2 tsp. cloves (whole)
    4 c. apple juice, chilled
    1 (12 oz.) can apricot nectar, chilled
    1/4 c. lemon juice
Preparation
    In a small saucepan, combine water, sugar, cinnamon and cloves.
    Bring to boil; reduce heat and simmer covered for 10 minutes.
    Chill.
    Strain and discard spices.
    Combine with fruit juices.
    To serve, combine base with club soda or with wine, brandy or other flavorings.
    Makes 12 (5 ounce) servings.
