Homemade Cookie Mix - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. Snowdrift shortening
    4 c. sugar
    9 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    2 c. nonfat dry milk
    3 1/2 Tbsp. baking powder
    1 Tbsp. salt
Preparation
    In a 6-quart or larger bowl, cream shortening and sugar with an electric mixer, adding sugar to the shortening gradually. Thoroughly blend remaining ingredients.
    Add to creamed mixture slowly using low speed on an electric mixer or a pastry blender to mix until like coarse cornmeal.
    Store in tightly covered containers at room temperature.
    Cookie mix will keep several weeks.
    Makes about 12 cups.
