Old-Fashioned Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. butter (2 c.)
    1 lb. sugar (3 1/2 c.)
    1 lb. eggs (10 large or 12 small)
    1 lb. sifted flour (4 c.)
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Grease a 10-inch tube pan; set aside.
    Preheat oven to 300\u00b0. In a large mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Gradually add flour; blend well.
    Pour batter into prepared pan.
    Bake 2 hours or until a wooden pick inserted near the center comes out clean.
    Cool in pan 10 minutes before turning out onto a wire rack to cool completely.
    Makes 12 to 14 servings.
