Chocolate Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. milk
    1/4 c. chocolate
    1/2 c. Karo syrup (white)
    8 Tbsp. cornstarch (well rounded)
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 large egg yolks
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Scald 3 1/2 cups milk in a double boiler.
    Mix cocoa and sugar.
    Add to milk.
    Add syrup and salt.
    Mix cornstarch with 1/2 cup of milk and egg yolks.
    Beat well.
    Add to double boiler and cook until thickened.
    Add butter and vanilla.
    Stir constantly while cooking.
    Pour into a 9-inch baked pie crust.
    Top with meringue and brown.
    Makes 2 (9-inch) pies.
