Hush Puppies - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1/2 c. sifted flour
1 Tbsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. corn meal
1 small onion, finely minced
1 egg, beaten
3/4 c. milk
oil

Preparation

Sift together flour, sugar, salt and corn meal.
Add onion. Combine egg and milk.
Stir into flour mixture.
Mix well.
Drop mixture from a teaspoon into hot oil and fry until lightly browned.
