Red Cabbage Dish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 red cabbage, chopped fine
    1 bay leaf
    1 medium onion, chopped
    bacon fat
    2 apples, chopped fine
    red wine to taste
    1 tsp. sugar
    1/2 c. red currant jelly
Preparation
    Saute onion, bay leaf and cabbage in bacon fat.
    Add apples and moisten with red wine.
    Continue to cook about 1 1/2 hours. Add sugar and jelly. Simmer 1/2 hour.
    Delicious with ham.
