Old Fashioned Mashed Potatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 medium potatoes
    1 medium onion
    1/2 to 3/4 c. milk
    1/3 c. butter or margarine
    1 tsp. grated Parmesan cheese
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. sugar
    1/8 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Peel and cut potatoes into eighths.
    Finely chop onion.
    Cook potatoes and onion in boiling water to cover for 15 minutes, or until tender.
    Drain and mash.
    Add 1/2 cup milk and remaining ingredients.
    Add more milk, if needed, for desired consistency.
