Creole Mixed Vegetables - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (16 oz.) cans black-eyed peas, drained
    2 lb. fresh green beans
    3 medium-sized white turnips, cubed
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 c. chopped onions
    1 (14 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
    1 tsp. dried thyme leaves
    1 tsp. salt
Preparation
    In a 4 to 5-quart saucepan, bring green beans and turnips to boil.
    Reduce heat and cover to simmer about 20 minutes.
    Remove from heat and drain. Add peas and simmer 30 minutes.
