Buttered Carrot Sticks(By Children 7 - 12 Years Old) - cooking recipe

8 medium carrots
salt
2 Tbsp. butter
Preparation

Wash and pare 8 carrots, then cut lengthwise into 1/2 inch strips on cutting board.
Using a measuring cup, pour 1 inch of water into saucepan.
Keep track how many cups of water you use, then add 1/2 teaspoon salt for each cup of water.
Add the carrots.
The water should just cover them.
Cover and cook over medium heat 18 to 20 minutes or until the carrots are tender when pierced with fork.
Lift the carrots to serving dish with slotted spoon, gently stir in 2 tablespoons butter.
