Pumpkin-Molasses Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 1/2 c. packed brown sugar
    1 tsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. ground ginger
    3/4 c. buttermilk or sour milk
    1/2 c. shortening, margarine or butter
    1/2 c. canned pumpkin
    1/4 c. light molasses
    1 tsp. finely shredded orange peel
    2 eggs
Preparation
    In a bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and ginger. Add buttermilk, shortening, pumpkin, molasses and orange peel.
    Beat with an electric mixer on low to medium speed until combined.
    Beat on high speed for 2 minutes. Add eggs and beat 2 minutes more.
    Pour into a greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Bake in a 350\u00b0 oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Serves 12.
