Candied Yams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 yams
    butter
    2/3 c. sugar
    1 c. water
Preparation
    Boil 6 yams for 20 minutes.
    Peel, slice lengthwise and brown quickly in a little butter.
    Put in baking dish.
    Boil to thick syrup 2/3 cup sugar and 1 cup water.
    Pour over potatoes.
    Bake in preheated moderate oven (375\u00b0) for 25 minutes.
    Makes 6 to 8 servings.
