Celebration Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. margarine or butter
    1 c. sliced green onion
    1 c. shredded carrots
    2 1/2 c. uncooked converted long grain rice
    5 tsp. instant chicken bouillon
    1/4 tsp. dried thyme leaves
    4 1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. chopped parsley
Preparation
    Melt margarine in 4-quart Dutch oven. Saute green onion and carrots in melted margarine.
    Add rice. Cook, stirring occasionally, until rice is opaque.
    Add bouillon, thyme and water. Cook over high heat until mixture comes to a boil.
    Cover, reduce heat and simmer 15 to 20 minutes or until liquid is absorbed.
    Stir in parsley. Serve.
    Serves 12.
