Glorified Onions - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 large Vidalia or Spanish onions
    1 1/2 c. white vinegar
    1 c. sugar
    2 c. water
    1 1/2 c. mayonnaise
    1 tsp. celery salt
Preparation
    Slice onions extremely thin, then marinate overnight in large bowl with vinegar, sugar and water.
    Drain and toss with mayonnaise and celery salt.
    Serve with crackers or bagel chips as an appetizer.
