Seven Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium head of lettuce, shredded
    1 c. coarsely chopped celery
    1/2 c. coarsely chopped green pepper
    1 c. coarsely chopped Spanish onion
    1 pkg. frozen green peas, separated and thawed
    1 1/2 c. Hellmann's mayonnaise
    2 T sugar
    2 c. shredded cheddar cheese
    8 strips of crispy bacon, crumbled
Preparation
    Arrange lettuce on bottom of clear glass bowl. Add the other vegetable in layers. Do not toss! Spread mayonnaise evenly over the top. Sprinkle with sugar and layer the cheddar cheese on top. Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight. Sprinkle bacon over the salad before serving. Makes 10-12 servings.
