Gingersnaps - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. shortening
    1 c. brown sugar, packed
    1 egg
    1/4 c. molasses
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. ground cloves
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 1/4 c. flour
    granulated sugar
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Mix shortening, brown sugar, egg and molasses.
    Blend in soda, cinnamon, ground cloves and salt, then add flour.
    Chill 1 hour.
    Shape dough by rounded teaspoon into balls; roll in sugar.
    Place balls 3 inches apart on lightly greased cookie sheet.
    Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
    Remove immediately.
