Onion Shortcake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large sweet onion
    1/2 c. butter or margarine
    1 1/2 c. corn muffin mix or 1 box Jiffy
    1 egg, beaten
    1/3 c. milk
    1 can creamed corn
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. grated Cheddar cheese
    3/4 c. sour cream
Preparation
    Saute onion slowly in margarine.
    Combine muffin mix, egg, milk and corn.
    Place in greased 8-inch square pan.
    Add sour cream, salt and 1/2 cup cheese to onion.
    Spread over batter. Sprinkle with remaining cheese.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
    Cut into squares.
