Perfect Fudge A-La Marie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    2/3 c. cocoa powder
    pinch of salt
    1 1/2 c. milk (whole or half and half)
    1/2 c. butter
    2 Tbsp. vanilla
    2 c. chopped pecans (I originally used black walnuts)
Preparation
    Combine sugar, cocoa and salt in heavy pan.
    Gradually add milk.
    Bring to a boil, stirring constantly.
    Reduce heat. Continue boiling, without stirring, until candy thermometer reaches 232\u00b0.
    Remove from heat.
    Add butter, vanilla and nuts. Mix vigorously.
    Pour into a buttered pan.
    Cut into 2-inch squares when cool.
    May garnish with pecan half.
    Great fudge.
