Orange Date Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 c. shortening
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
4 c. plain flour
1 lb. candy orange slices, chopped
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 c. pecans, broken
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 box dates, chopped
1 can coconut

Preparation

Mix the ingredients together.
Pour in tube pan.
Bake 2 1/2 hours at 250\u00b0.
