Triple Fill Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    6 c. flour
    4 Tbsp. baking powder
    3/4 tsp. salt
    2 c. shortening (1/2 butter/1/2 Crisco)
    5 egg yolks
    2 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. milk
Preparation
    ortening as for pie dough.
    Beat together last three ingredients, then mix with first mixture.
    Divide into 3 parts. Roll out dough layers to fit 11 x 16-inch greased pan.
    Arrange as follows:
    layer dough, layer nut filling, layer dough, layer apricot filling, layer dough, meringue, sprinkle with nuts.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 1 hour or until done.
    Cool and cut into squares.
