Golden Herbed Onions - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. thinly sliced onion rings
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/3 c. water
    3/4 tsp. marjoram
    2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    1/4 c. butter
    1 tall can evaporated milk (1 2/3 c.)
    1 tsp. dried parsley flakes
    dash of pepper
Preparation
    Place onion rings in 1 1/2-quart casserole.
    Melt butter in medium size saucepan.
    Remove from heat.
    Blend in flour; slowly stir in evaporated milk and water.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.
    Add parsley, salt, marjoram, pepper and shredded cheese.
    Stir until cheese is melted and sauce is smooth.
    Pour cheese sauce over onions in casserole. Bake in preheated oven at 350\u00b0 until onions are tender.
    Serves 6 to 8.
