Indian Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. dry pinto beans
    1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
    1 large onion
    8 slices bacon, cut in 2-inch lengths
    3/4 c. sliced celery
    salt to taste
    3/4 tsp. cinnamon
    3 Tbsp. vinegar
    2 qt. water
    6 Tbsp. sugar
Preparation
    Wash beans, place in 6-quart kettle with 3 quarts water and bring to simmer.
    Cover.
    Cook 4 hours or until tender.
    Mix remaining ingredients with beans and cooking water.
    Place in 4-quart casserole.
    Cover and bake in 350\u00b0 oven for 2 to 3 hours, or until done.
    Add water, if necessary.
    Serves 10 to 12.
