Fruit Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. raisins
2 c. hot water
1 c. melted Crisco
2 c. sugar
4 c. sifted flour
1 Tbsp. baking soda
1 tsp. each: nutmeg, cloves and cinnamon
1 tsp. salt
1 c. sherry wine
1 c. chopped nuts
1 pkg. or jar candied fruit mix
Preparation

Put hot water over raisins.
Mix raisins, sugar and Crisco. Mix dry ingredients.
Add dry ingredients to raisin mixture when cool, not cold.
Add fruit, nuts and wine.
Put into well-greased and floured pans.
Fill to 1-inch of top.
Start baking at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes, then reduce to 300\u00b0 for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
