Ingredients

1 1/4 c. sugar
1 c. water
1/4 c. lemon juice
3 ripe pears, cored and chopped
3 c. cranberries
some lemon rind
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. allspice
Preparation

Boil sugar, water and lemon juice together 5 minutes.
Core and chop pears.
Add to mixture.
Boil 5 minutes.
Add cranberries and simmer 7 minutes.
Add lemon rind, cinnamon and allspice to mixture in pan.
Cool.
Add to it more lemon juice.
Makes 6 cups. Freezes well.
Delicious served with main dish as garnish/side dish.
