Cucumber Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

8 to 10 large cucumbers
2 qt. vinegar
4 lb. sugar
2 tsp. pickling spices
1 c. slaked lime and 1 gal. cold water, mixed
Preparation

Slice cucumbers and cover with lime water, using crock or plastic container (not metal).
Let stand for approximately 24 hours.
Drain cucumbers and cover with mixture made of vinegar, spice and sugar and let soak overnight.
Next morning, simmer for 25 to 30 minutes and seal in sterilized jars.
(Do not cover while cooking.)
