Mississippi Caviar - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    No. 1 can black-eyed peas, drained
    1/3 c. oil
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/3 c. white vinegar
    1 clove garlic
    1 large onion, sliced
    1/2 tsp. salt
    black pepper
Preparation
    Mix all ingredients and store in refrigerator when ready to serve; remove garlic.
