Mamie June'S Fruit Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 apples
3 tsp. baking soda
2 c. brown sugar, packed
8 oz. soft oleo
3 eggs
1 c. milk
4 c. flour
2 Tbsp. cocoa
2 tsp. allspice
2 tsp. cloves
3 tsp. nutmeg
3 Tbsp. cinnamon
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 medium jar cherries, chopped
8 oz. pitted dates, chopped
1 large can crushed pineapple
Preparation

Cook apples with baking soda.
Set aside to cool.
In a large bowl, mix brown sugar, oleo, eggs and milk.
In a separate bowl, sift together flour, cocoa, allspice, cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon, then a little at a time, blend flour mixture into other bowl until well mixed. Add nuts, cherries, dates and pineapple.
Mix well. Last thing, add cooled, cooked apples; mix well.
Pour into well-greased angel food cake pans.
Makes enough cake batter for 2 cakes.
Bake in preheated 350\u00b0 oven for 1 hour.
