Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe

2 (1/2 oz.) bottles red food coloring
3 Tbsp. instant cocoa
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 1/4 c. flour, sifted 3 times
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. vinegar
Preparation

Mix and set aside the food coloring and cocoa.
Cream shortening and sugar.
Add eggs and the color paste.
Beat 10 minutes.
Add buttermilk and slowly add flour, salt and vanilla. Remove from mixer and mix lightly the vinegar and soda.
Bake in 2 (8-inch) floured pans at 350\u00b0 for 30 to 35 minutes.
