Light As A Feather Donuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. milk
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. margarine
    1/2 c. warm water
    3 pkg. yeast
    6 eggs, beaten
    5 1/2 c. flour or enough to make soft dough
Preparation
    Scald milk; stir in sugar, salt and margarine.
    Set aside to cool.
    Take warm water (tepid); add yeast.
    Stir until melted. Take cooled milk mixture and add about 1/3 of flour and all of the yeast mixture.
    Mix well.
    Beat in eggs, one at a time.
    Add flour to make dough.
    Work dough and let rise until double in size. Then work dough again and cut donuts out on wax paper and let rise again.
    Put shortening or oil in pan, deep enough for donuts to float.
    Turn and dip in glaze of powdered sugar, vanilla and milk to make a thin glaze.
    Set aside to cool.
