Chocolate Torte - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. unsalted butter (2 sticks)
    1 c. sugar (8 oz.)
    2 egg whites
    8 oz. baking chocolate
    3 boxes Lorna Doone cookies
    3 c. finely chopped nuts
    hot milk
    nuts, glazed fruit or chocolate curls (for garnish)
Preparation
    Cream butter in mixer bowl until light; add sugar slowly until very light and fluffy.
    Beat for 10 minutes.
    In separate bowl, make meringue of the 2 egg whites and add to creamed mixture.
