Candied Yams - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 large sweet potatoes
    1 c. granulated sugar
    1/2 stick butter
Preparation
    Cut in half, then 4 equal sizes.
    (I just cut them equally.) Place in boiler; add water to cover.
    Add granulated sugar and butter or margarine.
    Cook on medium, uncovered for 30 to 40 minutes until done and liquid has turned to syrup.
