Baked Potato Soup - cooking recipe

4 large baking potatoes
2/3 c. butter or margarine
2/3 c. all-purpose flour
6 c. milk
1/2 tsp. pepper
4 green onions, chopped
12 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
1 1/4 c. (5 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation

Bake potatoes at 400\u00b0 for 1 hour (or until done).
Let cool. Cut into cubes and set aside.
Melt butter or margarine in a heavy saucepan over low heat; add flour, stirring until smooth.
Cook 1 minute, stirring constantly.
Gradually add milk; cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is thickened and bubbly.
Add potato cubes, pepper, green onions, bacon and cheese. Cook until thoroughly heated.
Add extra milk, if necessary, for desired thickness.
