Yams And Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 yams, peeled and sliced about 1/4-inch
    2 tart apples, peeled and sliced
    1/2 stick butter
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    3 to 4 Tbsp. drinking sherry or brandy
Preparation
    Melt and mix butter, sugar and brandy or sherry.
    Pour sauce over layer of yams, sauce, layer of apples and sauce in a well buttered long baking dish.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
