Swiss Chicken - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 (1/2-inch thick) French bread slices
    6 (1/8-inch thick) Swiss cheese slices
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    6 boneless chicken breast halves, skinned
    1/2 c. dry white wine
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 tsp. salt
    8 oz. fresh mushrooms, sliced
    1 c. milk
    1/4 c. green onions
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 325\u00b0.
    Arrange bread slices on a baking sheet; place a slice of cheese on each bread slice.
    Place in oven to melt cheese.
    In a large skillet, melt butter.
    Add chicken pieces; cook until done.
    Place 1 piece cooked chicken on top of each bread slice.
    Return to oven to keep warm.
    Pour wine into same skillet. Add mushrooms and onions; saute until cooked.
    Stir in cornstarch, milk and salt.
    Cook, stirring constantly, until slightly thickened.
    Place chicken-topped bread on a platter.
    Top with mushroom sauce.
    Makes 6 servings.
