Sweet And Sour Green Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 slices of bacon
    1 medium onion
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. vinegar
    3 16 oz. cans green beans
    1 tsp. crushed red peppers, optional
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Chop bacon into small cubes. Fry until almost crisp in a double broiler. Add chopped onion to bacon and cook until the onions become almost transparent. Add vinegar, water, and sugar to the onion and bacon. Salt and pepper to taste (add crushed peppers if desired). Simmer 20 minutes. Drain and rinse green beans. Add to bacon mixture and simmer for 20 minutes. Serves 6.
