Apple Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 slices stale white bread
    2 c. applesauce, sweetened to taste
    1/3 tsp. cinnamon
    pinch of nutmeg
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 c. milk
    2 eggs, beaten
    1/2 c. sugar
    pinch of salt
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Break bread into small pieces, not crumbs.
    Put half in bottom of buttered deep baking dish.
    Add cinnamon and nutmeg to applesauce and spread over bread in dish, then cover with remaining bread.
    Dot with butter.
    Mix milk, eggs, sugar, salt and vanilla and pour over bread.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for about 1 hour or until pudding is puffed and set.
