Basic Light Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    3 c. sifted cake flour or 2 3/4 c. all-purpose flour
    2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. milk
    1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream shortening.
    Gradually add sugar, beating well at medium speed of electric mixer.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
