Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cornmeal
    1 c. flour
    1/4 c. sugar
    4 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 egg
    1 c. milk
    1/4 c. soft shortening
Preparation
    Sift dry ingredients together.
    Add egg, milk and softened shortening.
    Beat with mixer until smooth.
    Bake in heated greased 8-inch pan.
    Bake at 425\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
