Toffee - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. margarine
    1 1/3 c. syrup
    1 3/4 c. sugar
    1 1/2 c. chopped nuts
    4 oz. semi-sweet chocolate
    1/2 c. nuts
Preparation
    Melt margarine; add sugar.
    Cook until sugar is dissolved, stirring constantly.
    Then cook without stirring to 290\u00b0, hard crack.
    Remove from heat and stir in 1 1/2 cups nuts.
    Do not overmix.
    When slightly cooled, melt semi-sweet chocolate and 1/2 cup chopped nuts.
    Spread over top, then sprinkle on remainder of nuts.
    Break into pieces when cool.
