German Apple Cake (Or Plum Or Peach) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. unsalted melted butter
    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    4 to 5 large sliced apples
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease an 8 x 8-inch square baking dish. Combine the butter, 1 cup sugar and eggs in bowl and beat thoroughly. Add flour, baking powder and vanilla. Beat until well blended. Spread evenly in baking dish. Combine 1/2 cup sugar with the cinnamon.
    Add to the apples, coating well. Arrange slices on top of batter in overlapping rows, pressing lightly in batter. Bake 1 hour.
    Cool and cut into squares.
