Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe
Ingredients

25 to 30 medium cucumbers
2 large onions
2 large green peppers
1/2 c. salt
5 c. vinegar
2 Tbsp. mustard seed
1 tsp. cloves
5 c. sugar
1 tsp. turmeric
Preparation

Slice cucumbers, onions and peppers.
Add 1/2 cup salt.
Let stand 3 hours, then drain.
Combine remaining ingredients in a large kettle and boil.
Add drained vegetables and heat, but do not boil.
Pack in clean hot jars and seal.
