Rouladen - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 to 4 lb. beef roast
mustard
onion powder
bacon strips
5 beef oxo cubes or powder
Preparation

Slice beef roast with electric knife and pound each slice with a meat mallet to tenderize and flatten each slice out.
Spread mustard over meat slice.
Sprinkle with onion powder and top with one or two bacon strips.
Roll the meat and secure with toothpicks. Repeat with each meat slice.
Brown rolled meat slice in frying pan.
Place browned meat rolls in large pot with beef oxo cubes or powder and water to cover.
Let simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours on low heat.
Remove meat rolls to platter and thicken gravy with flour. Then move meat rolls back to thickened gravy and simmer for another 2 to 3 minutes.
Serve.
