Apricot Slices - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 oz. self-rising flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 oz. shortening
    2 oz. margarine
    2 oz. sugar
    1 egg
    apricot jam
Preparation
    Mix flour and salt; rub in fats and stir in sugar.
    Mix to a stiff paste with beaten egg and a little milk, if necessary.
    Cut pastry in two; roll out thinly both same size.
    Place one piece on greased baking sheet; cover with jam.
    Moisten edges of pastry. Cover with other pieces and nip together.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 to 375\u00b0 for about 20 minutes.
    Cool; cut into slices and dredge with confectioners sugar.
