Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large head lettuce
    1 box frozen peas
    1 can water chestnuts
    1 green pepper, diced
    1 cauliflower, chopped fine
    2 bunches green onions
    1 c. mayonnaise
    1 c. sour cream
    3 Tbsp. sugar
    Cheddar cheese, grated
    bacon bits or real bacon, fried, drained and crumbled
Preparation
    Chop lettuce into bite-size pieces; place in bottom of large bowl.
    On top of lettuce, put the peas, then water chestnuts, etc., finishing with the green onions.
    At this point, there should be six layers of vegetables.
