Brunswick Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 stewing hen
    2 stalks celery, chopped
    2 cans tomatoes
    3 medium potatoes, diced
    salt and pepper to taste
    ham butt
    1 tsp. each: rosemary and parsley
    2 large onions, sliced
    2 c. okra (optional)
    2 c. lima beans or green beans
    2 cans corn
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    2 bay leaves
    dash of Tabasco sauce
Preparation
    Cut chicken into pieces and brown in oil.
    Add 3 quarts water and cook until meat falls off bone.
    Remove, cool and pick off chicken from bones.
    Discard bones.
    Add raw vegetables to broth and simmer, uncovered, until beans and potatoes are tender.
    Stir occasionally.
    Add chicken and seasonings.
